Ladder climber GKS/GKM

Ladder climber GKS/GKM

The ladder climber, type goracon GKS or GKM, assists the climber to ascend with an individually adjustable traction force (max 45 kg).

Suitable for use on side rail (type GKS) and centre rail ladders (type GKM).

Technical Description

The safety harness is fastened to the continuous rope by an ascender and snap hooks. The motor, fitted to the bottom end of the ladder on the rear side, drives the continuous rope via an infinitely variable slip clutch with driving pulley. The rope runs around the top end of the ladder via a sheave. The ladder climber is started or stopped by pulling up the rope. The ladder climber stops when the climber comes to a halt on the ladder. The rope is pulled up again to continue climbing.

Unlike comparable products there is no risk of accident if the slip clutch fails, as the signal to the control system is transmitted via a separate shaft and not via the motor shaft.

Technical Data

Drive: Spur wheel back-geared motor 0.55 kW
Strain relief/traction force: approx. 88 lbs (40 daN) or according to requirements
Power supply: 230 V/ 50Hz/IP54 or according to requirements
Duty cycle: 100%
Rope: approx. 0.5″ black pre-stretched continuous rope made of polyester with special grip coating
Climbing height: according to project requirements
Rope tensioning: via a guide rail/tensioning unit
Material: galvanised steel / stainless steel / aluminium
